Jean McDonald - Tees Osteoporosis Support Group
Working within a volunteer role, helping patients and families.
Why did you decide to become a Community Champion?
I have volunteered as the Secretary for the Tees Osteoporosis Support Group, one of the many support groups of the Royal Osteoporosis Society, for 15 years. I became a Community Champion in order to forge new links to communities whereby I can enlist help in providing more information and support for Tees Support Group Members.
How does your role help people in South Tees?
As Secretary to the Tees Support Group I organise five meetings per year and enlist the help of a diverse range of information providers as speakers at meetings, to help support the improvement of the lives and well being of our group members.
