Lorna Routledge - Active Forests Coordinator for Guisborough Forest
Lorna is the Active Forests Coordinator for Guisborough Forest which is one of four Forestry England sites across the UK that are leading green social prescribing projects.
Why I decided to become a community champion:
Prior to this role I was a social prescriber in Middlesbrough and hope that alongside my knowledge and skills teamed with my passion for exercise and being outdoors I will have an influence on their benefits across the network and the local community. In addition, I hope to continue to understand the community's needs and network with local people and organisations.
How my role helps people across south tees:
Through the Feel Good in the Forest programme at Guisborough Forest I hope to grow a timetable of different activities that can provide opportunities for people to improve their physical and mental health. My aim is to support people who experience barriers to accessing the forest and empower them to use our natural spaces to improve their overall health.
