Tees Valley Buddies report - Neurodiverse families and their mental health
Founder and CEO Anne-marie Head – who is also a Healthwatch South Tees Community Champion – made it her mission to create a network to drive forward a more inclusive society that values and celebrates difference, where neurodiverse people can live safe, happy and fulfilled lives.
She has recently consulted with her network of neurodivergent families to find out about mental health from their perspective.
A survey was produced to gain an understanding of their mental health issues, if they were more likely to experience problems, or if life’s experiences influenced their general wellbeing.
The charity also asked questions about local primary care and the voluntary and community sector, and if those with mental health conditions felt supported by them (and if not, what support services and interventions were needed).
