Closing the chapter on the STAR Awards

After five successful years, Healthwatch South Tees has decided to conclude the STAR awards.

These awards have been instrumental in celebrating the hard work and dedication of individuals and services throughout the South Tees area, especially during the challenging times of COVID-19 and beyond.

The STAR Awards, standing for South Tees Award of Recognition, was founded in 2020 during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The awards went from strength to strength culminating in our final event in 2024 where we received a total of 72 nominations.  This growth reflected the increasing recognition and appreciation for outstanding contributions within the South Tees community.

While we bid farewell to the STAR awards, we are excited to announce that a new recognition initiative is on the horizon. This new element will continue our tradition of honouring outstanding contributions within our communities. Stay tuned for more details!
